The neck is constructed from a substantial 5/4 Quartersawn Maple blank, ensuring incredible structural stability and superior vibration transfer. It features a comfortable 60 Style Oval "C" profile, a 9.50 inch radius, and 21 Narrow Tall (6105) frets for effortless string bending and precise intonation. The Maple Quartersawn fingerboard is adorned with Micarta Black inlays and a Bone nut for classic tone and sustain. The electronics are the heart of this '72 Custom. It features a Wide Range Humbucker CuNiFe Relic in the neck position, providing the authentic, hi-fi warmth and clarity that only genuine CuNiFe magnets can offer. In the bridge, a Handwound Crushed Blackguard Telecaster Relic pickup delivers the biting "twang" and percussive growl of a vintage original.
